I received a call on Friday (the 13th) from our caseworker with some really good news... our Civil Court Case has been scheduled for Feb 8th. This is good news for several reasons - 1) means all of our paperwork has been processed with no issues, 2) we were scheduled before Chinese New Year - avoiding potential delays due to the holiday and 3) given the legislative changes that are happening in Taiwan, the further our case progresses before July, the less chance those changes have of affecting our adoption.
We celebrated Slava's second Gotcha Day this week. We got him a play horse and went out to an authentic Russian dinner last night. The dinner was, surprisingly, really good. MUCH, MUCH better than the cuisine we were exposed to in Vlad. Crazy to think our little man has been here for only 2 years... can't remember a time he wasn't running around the house. He has certainly changed our lives... in ways more profound and significant than I ever could have imagined. Life is so very, very good.
